Who is this guy?
My passion is vintage boats and antique outboards. My first boat project was the total restoration of a basket case 1960 Larson Playboy fiberglass runabout. It entailed removing the deck, replacing the stringers, floor, transom, structural fiberglass work, paint and engine rebuilding. As seen on page 9 of the Nov. 2003 issue of Classic Boating magazine. This boat now plies the waterways of the East coast.
Later I repaired and refurbished a vintage racing hydroplane, which now resides in Northern Michigan. This was followed by a scratch build of a 1940s Dragonfly speedboat which is documented on the Projects page here.
If you're ever down in Texas look me up! And in case you were wondering, "Kruitz" sounds like "Kroots"
I'm knowledgeable in different approaches of construction and restoration for both wood and fiberglass boats which I've learned from years of hobbyist experience, and time spent working in an actual wooden boat restoration shop. I'm an active member of the Antique Outboard Motor Club, and past member of Fiberglassics.com.
